Back Pay and Parking Rates

Hello Everyone,

We received the Tech letter sent to HR for processing pay increases. You should see your back pay check in the middle of March. You will see the change in pay in your paycheck that is received on April first for the time you worked in March. We will receive the retroactive 5% GSI (effective July 1, 2023) in March 2024.

We were also noticed that there are plans to increase parking rates. We let employee relations know that although the campus can contractually increase rates, that campuses have the option not to as well and to reconsider the parking increase and keep more money in the pockets of our staff.

Chapter 318 Email Transition

Hello Chapter 318,

On July 6th, we were notified that there was an issue with our email server that prevents us from sending our emails through our existing system. To address this issue, we have created new lists for Chapter 318 communications. What does this mean?

  • You may have received a “welcome” message from any list that you were part of under our previous lists.
  • Please check your “Spam” folder in your email, if you have not received any emails from us in the last week.
  • You will receive emails from these new lists for the time being.
  • As before, if your email should be updated, please let us know. For example, if you used to be Unit 7 and you are now Unit 9, we can remove and add you to the correct list.
  • We only had the list of SDSU emails to create the new lists. Please let us know if you would prefer to use a different email.

If you have any additional questions, please reach out to the Communications Committee at 318-commmunications@318atwork.org

Thank you!

Celebrating Victories: CSUEU SDSU Chapter 318’s Recent Wins for Members

As a union dedicated to advocating for the rights and well-being of our members, CSUEU SDSU Chapter 318 is proud to celebrate some recent victories that highlight our commitment to fighting for our members. Through collective effort and determination, we have secured essential wins that positively impact our members’ lives and working conditions.
One significant accomplishment is successfully negotiating In-Range Progressions (IRPs) for most lead custodians on campus. Despite their additional responsibilities, these dedicated employees were earning nearly the same amount as our custodians. Through our efforts, we rectify this disparity and ensure that these lead custodians are fairly compensated for their roles, reflecting their skills and contributions to the university.
Additionally, we are proud to have secured IRPs for all our laborers on campus. These hardworking employees play a crucial role in maintaining the university’s infrastructure, and it was important to us to ensure their wages are commensurate with their skills and responsibilities.
Furthermore, our recent victories include successfully resolving two informal grievances and a level I complaint. These wins demonstrate our dedication to addressing and resolving issues that our members face in the workplace. We are committed to standing up for our members’ rights and ensuring they are treated fairly and respectfully.
Our chapter’s work does not end with these victories. While we are proud of our recent successes, we recognize that there is still work to be done to continue advocating for our members. We remain committed to fighting for our members and helping them overcome challenges they may face in the workplace. Our doors are always open, and we encourage our members to reach out if they need assistance or have concerns.
As a union, we are determined to continue our fight for fair wages, safe working conditions, and equitable treatment for all our members. We are proud of our achievements but recognize that this is just the beginning. We will continue striving for positive change and are committed to supporting our members every step of the way.
In conclusion, CSUEU SDSU Chapter 318 is proud to celebrate our recent victories in securing IRPs for lead custodians and laborers and resolving informal grievances and a level I complaint. These wins reflect our dedication to advocating for our members and fighting for their rights in the workplace. We are committed to continuing our efforts to support our members and create positive change. We will continue fighting for our members’ rights and a better work environment. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need help or have concerns.
